Hello to all Knots-
I’m looking for tricks of the trade- regarding tenons
All tenons on a current project are tight and satisfyingly snug to the mortise … except one
just a smidgen to giggly for my liking- chances are that glue will swell the wood and all will be well… but I’m not sure.
Any interesting cures for my “little to slim” tenon
My only idea is to laminate a thin “shim” to the tenon and then re-cut.
How loose is too loose?
Any tips appreciated

I'm sure there are lots of methods, but you can plane a shaving off a piece of wood and glue it to the tenon. It gives you a few more thousands of an inch.

Dave,
Laminate a piece and re-cut. Done that . Works well. Use epoxy without re-cutting. Done that. works well also.

Shim it with veneer as you glue it up.

I will never look at a loose joint without thinking of your "too giggly".
