So I picked up a package of blades from my sharpening service. I had handed off a Forrest ww2 40 tooth blade but got back a Tenryu Gold Metal. So in the mean time while they search for my blade, does anyone have an opinion regarding which is the better blade? The Tenryu appears to be neither a thin kerf nor a full kerf but something in between.

Hey,
Metric measured kerf. I've heard of them. It's somewhere between a thin and full kerf. Try it out on scrap. Worst - you can only be short 1 blade. And who knows, you might like it.

Well, they did find mine so I won't be trying it, it's someone else's. The Tenryu gets good reviews and it's nearly half the price of the Forrest. I though if they lost mine they owe me a new Forrest. So on Forrests website a window pops up saying they're backordered 5 months!
