Greetings All:
I wanted to post a special thanks to Knots, and especially labolle, for turning us on to Kintaro Yazawa, the Japanese woodworker who’s joinery is featured on the back cover of the current issue of Fine Woodworking (hits mailboxes and news stands this week).
If you recall, it was in this Knots Post that Yazawa first made it on our radar. Soon after labolle’s post I blogged about Yazawa, and then passed on the lead to Jonathan Binzen, who produces our Back Cover features.
Here is an audio slideshow we just published online about Yazawa to go along with his back cover feature. It’s inspiring to say the least.
Cheers,
Matt Berger

Kudos to Labolle!! Great to know that Knots gets on the print-mag's radar once in awhile, LOL! Can't wait to see the magazine.

Got #191 this past Monday and I for one feel it's packed with great stuff. Yes I wholeheartedly agree with you. I've been preaching to FWW about what a fantastic resource Knots is and have ofetn wondered why they haven't used it more often.
I'd love to see an issue featuring some of the pieces from The Gallery, actually any of the discussions. There's so much to learn and we have the Finest right here!
We're very fortunate.

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!
Being on the Left Coast, my stuff comes little later. Looking forward to it!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I have already received my issue and was amazed at Yazawa's craftsmanship. His work is incredible!! If I'm doing woodwork 25 years from now and still upright, I may attempt something like his work:>)
Thanks to FWW for covering it.
It is truly amazing work. I'm damn lucky if I can get box joints to turn out like I hope, let alone dovetails. I can't imagine trying something like the work this guy does. It really is hard to comprehend.
