The quest goes on. I just got my new Woodcraft catalog and the cover features a miter guage bt JessEm. I read the shoot out from a while back and am still questing. It’s red!

JessEm... I have not seen the new one for a TS but if it is like the one used on their router fence I may give up my Incra 1000se which I like ALOT...
Is there something wrong with the miter gauge you have? Most can be made to fit better and are as accurate as you are in setting them up.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Not to rain on your parade, but I can't see where it's worth 57% more than the Incra 1000SE. May depend on what type of work you do, but whoa, $220?

You 'n me both!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
You're right that $ 220 is alot of money. I might come down in price if they decide to up production and push them more. There is a price most people will pay and they compare to other tools to get a feel for what they should pay.
This is the last miter guage I will buy. I just don't want to fudge around with something that is made badly. I have two of those type of guages.
I could step back from the JessEm and get the Woodhaven deluxe. It goes for $ 179.
That's still alot. I'll look at the 3000 SE. It has a fence the telescopes out but it is $ 210
Hi David. Just curiosity here, prompting some questions, as I'm sure the JessEm is a quality piece of equipment. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just doing my usual compare-and-contrast thing.
Looking at the features of the Incra 3000, it seems what drives its price is the fact that it has 364 angle stops "in 5°,1° and 1/2° increments" -- are you feeling pretty sure you'll need that level of pre-set stops? If you have any interest in the Incra, but want a longer fence than that provided by the 1000SE, you can add a telescoping fence segment to it for ~$39.
Darn, I was just at Woodcraft on Tuesday. I'd love to put these fences next to each and see how they compare!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
I agree with you on most of your points. Not that I'm keeping track. I might just go for the 1000 SE with the telescoping fence.
They did talk about the fence attachment for auxiliary fences being to low on the Incra.
The Incras have a lot of stuff you can add on. I like that. There is a place in town where I could look at some. I'll go on Saturday when I'm down there.
David I got the 1000se and you would not regret having it. It is solid and on sale at woodpeckers right now for $139.00 + you get a 10% discount on top of that if you enter WP10 in the cupon code when ordering. They have a 10% off on everything.

I use the Osborne EB3. Have had it a year or so, and it is very accurate at the many detents. further, it is easy to eyeball not pre-set angles. The triangular design makes it very stable.
Good luck,
Mike N
I have the Incra V27. It's inexpensive and accurate for most work.
