Ben,
Great to have you here on Knots. Is that one of your A6's that will be coming out in October? Absolutly beautiful. I've never seen a Shepherd I didn't like, but you've topped yourselves with this one!
I hear a rumor about some saws from you folks in the future, true? Thanks for stopping by,
Steve
Glad to be here Steve
Actually we just released the A6--well ahead of schedule--go to our site and you'll see some more shots of it.
The saws are no rumor but they are in a very early stage of development--probabaly looking at a Novemebr release date for those and they will be in both kit and finished form.

Do you have a link to your website, as I would love to check it out.Scott C. Frankland

Outstanding............ Enjoyed the web-site also. I have heard of Sheppard Tool's, but this has en-lightened me to what they are and about. You guys are doing a great job and hope the sucess will continue.
BTW, I would come over and mow that grass in the back-ground of the picture..... If I thought there might be a possibility of a "reject" plane in the trash-bin out back. I can supply my own mower. ha..ha..
Keep up the excellent work...

Very, very nice! I was only kiddin' about the grass in the back-ground. Those planes would look good sitting in a toilet. ha..ha..

Ben, Great design wonderful choice of wood and most of all. a thing of beauty to last forever.
Years ago. I got to know a fellow carpenter/cabinet maker.named Basilio. He had taken his aprentisship while growing up in Spain. One requirement for the young trainees, was to make their first plane from scratch. He showed it to me one day (Had it at home).
Although he owned all the best available American tools . He was understandably proudest of the one he showed me.
It was an infill type (Such as your's,) but it was made of steel channel iron and native olive wood.
The blade (Iron) was 1/4" thick and sharp as a razor. When I noted that I've never seen a plane's iron so thick, he replied," I found it in the road. It was apiece that had broken off an auto leaf spring."
Talk about hard and tough,I tried it on a tough old oak door and it peeled a seven foot curl as slick as black ice and it fairly whistled. Stein.
Thank you Stein.

Ben
