Hi
I am looking for “graphics” (I am not sure that is the right word, however) to depict the Four Seasons, e.g. summer, spring etc., I am thinking of making a bandsawn box incorporating/depicting these elements!
Thank you for your time,

Tony,
If you look up material from the old Howdy Doody show on TV, you will find a character names Princess SummerFallWinterSpring. Maybe you could do a single relief carving of her and that would handle all four seasons.
:-)
Don't you just hate it when people aren't helpful? If I had any good ideas, I'd let you know.
Enjoy, and let us know what you come up with.

Measure your output in smiles per board foot.
Tony,
One of the art deco era artists (Louis C Tiffany maybe) did a series of panels depicting the four seasons with female figures and flowers, falling leaves, etc. Maybe you can google to find them.

Ray,You are correct, it was Louis Tiffany. You're referring his "Four Seasons" series of panels. They will be going on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the end of Nov. and will be there through next May.Anyone in the area or who'll be visiting during this time, I highly recommend attending the display. I saw a similar exhibition of Tiffany's work some 20 odd years ago at Chicago's Art Institute, truely breathtaking.
Thanks, Jim,
For confirming that there is still one brain cell firing.

No problem, however, I'm afraid I may have blown my final neuron with that last reply :)
Not sure if this will help, but I would go over to the Dover books website and browse the books of clip art for "seasons". It would help if you could narrow it down a bit, I have seen the four seasons represented as human-like figures, animals, plants, etc.
I would also go to your library and look at the art books there. The four seasons is a popular art subject.
