Morning Folks,
How do you like the new Favorites folder on the Home page. It would be nice if it could follow you.

I agree. it is not on my tabs in the forum here...
Hi All.
The My Favorites tab will show up in the forums soon (hopefully by end of day). Our developers are hard at work making the change.

Matt - just wanted to let you know I appreciate FWW not sitting on its laurels.
You've made an already good website even better.
Good job! Pass that on to everyone concerned.

Matt - I'm a committed browser of woodworking web sites and imho FWW takes the lead for others to follow - much appreciated
I like the new My Favorites feature and have all ready placed several articles on mine.
Hi Matt,
Excellent improvement to the FWW site.
Suggestion: When we click the 'Add to favorites' link we are then taken to the favorites section and have to navigate back to the original page to continue reading or whatever. Can this be changed so we are not taken away from the original page, perhaps you can give some type of visual feedback to indicate the favorite has been stored succefully.Best,Wayne
Hi Wayne. After you click the "Add to My Favorites" button it should take you to your favorites page with a message at the top that reads:This article has been saved to your favorites. [Back to Article]
Add optional notes and folders below.Clicking the "Back to Article" link will navigate you back to the page you were just visiting. I think that covers what your asking about. Are you seeing that message?Matt Berger
Fine Woodworking
Matt,Yep I see that. The 'Add to favorites' feature will be very useful especially in this forum but it will get old very fast if that each time its clicked the user is taken away from the currently viewed forum or article etc. It's unncessary when all the user wants to do is add a link, in fact its quite distracting being shifted back and forth between the pages being read and 'My Favorites'.The flow should be something like:User clicks link to Add to Favorites.Brief message appears somewhere to let the user know the favorite has been saved (should not require user to acknowledge msg).User continues on reading etc with no interruption to their browsing...
hope thats a clearer explanationBest,Wayne
In the new look of Knots, I can no longer switch over to Breaktime...
Is this something that will be fixed?Expert since 10 am.
Matt - for the record I'll add my voice to jackplane's......the link to Breaktime is gone.
Murphy's Law being what it is I would guess that's just one item of many you're dealing with at the moment......
Hang in there dude. charlie -- "Count your blessings....it could always be worse!"
Checking in for the last time of the day...I've sent this bug off to the development team. It looks like the header was updated in the forums but it introduced a bug, which is that when you click any of the links in the header, it loads the page in the top three inches of the page but leaves the forum intact (at least on my Mac at home). We should get to it first thing Tuesday.- MattP.S. Now I see what you're talking about. The entire Breaktime link is gone! Looks like the designer left it out. That might take a few days to fix. In the meantime, add it to your MyFavorites Bookmarks!- MB

Same on a PC. As a corollary to that, you can't log out directly from Knots.
Jim
Actually, it's a pretty bad bug. Once you're in Knots, you're there forever.

Steve:
I think my worst nightmare is getting stuck in Knots forever! Good news is this bug was just fixed. If you still see experience the problem reset your cache.
Also, the Breaktime link should be back by lunchtime.

"Good news is this bug was just fixed."
Well, partially. Knots is no longer a Point of No Return, but Classifieds now is.
-Steve
Can you try reseting your cache. I'm not experiencing a loop in the Classifieds. Otherwi let me know which links cause the loop.
- Matt
Clearing the cache didn't work, but it seems to have been fixed in the interim.
-Steve
Steve,
Not quite. I just clicked the Classifieds and got nothing. The Knots discussion folders keep shgowing.

It's visible on the Home page. You can open that in a separate window by right-clicking the Home tab and selecting new window or new tab.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I dont have a subscription, but i use the tabs often as you desribed. A nice function for referencing too :) It WOULD be nice if you could use the favorites tab in the forums to help sort out info and file it for a spell. I need to scour the breaktime forums this winter for information on the house i am building next year...might take a few cases of beer i'm afraid...
It would be nice if it could follow you.
My dogs do that and frankly it gets a bit annoying!
