I just read some additions to the thread on gorilla glue – doesn’t sound very postive. For water proof situations there aren’t many other options. I can’t use urea-formalehyde glues for anything because my lungs close down real quickly when I’m around formaldehyde (and a few other things).
I’ve been using a bit of 5 minute and lots of West’s epoxies for a lot of gluing supplementing titebond. I can handle the squeeze out pretty well by scaping it with a putty knife when rubbery or with a scaper when hard. I tend to lean on it to fill sloppy gaps that should be tighter sometimes.
My negatives: it’s messy and it leaves a dark glue line anywhere my joining is less than perfect.
What do you all think about epoxies? Any failures (and details, please)? Thanks

The 5 minute epoxy is weaker than the regular fast setting epoxy. Epoxy has it's uses but it's more expensive but has gap filling qualities. http://www.woodweb has a good forum on adhesives. Do you have the guide books the epoxy companies provide with their products. I usually use the techs at the companies for help as well. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com has good prices.
