Thickness of OEM splitter on Powermatic PM1000?
Howdy all. New to the forum, I’m ramping up my woodworking activity, though it’s going to be constrained to what I can do in my half of a smallish two-car garage. Primary space-occupying tool will be the new table saw, a Powermatic PM1000. I’d like to use, generally speaking, thin-kerf blades to extent possible, given that this is a 1-3/4 hp machine. Which brings us to splitters/riving knives. Anyone have/know the thickness of the OEM guard’s splitter? PM makes a low-profile riving knife w/ a thickness of 0.079”, which should work, I believe, for most regular thin kerf blades, but I’m not sure what the regular splitter’s thickness is and whether that’ll present difficulties. (As best I can tell right now, this is the one detail I didn’t think of before ordering the saw earlier this week.) Any and all help appreciated. Thanks.
