I was thinking that not too long ago I had seen a comparison of thickness planners in FWW. I went searching, but I was unable to find the article. At any rate, I’m in the market for a new thinkness planner. The local stores all carry the major brands, but within the same price range, is a Dewalt really better than a Delta, etc., etc.? If your can provide some feedback I”d really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Mike

I don't want to sound like a salesman so forgive me if I do, however, this is one of the new features available on FineWoodworkingNetwork.com. You can access tool reviews published in the magazine, rate and review tools, and compare product specs.
Here's a link to a preview of the article you are refering to:

Thanks much for your help. That is the article I was referring to. It's reassuring to know my memory is not totally shot.

I think the thickness planer review you are thinking of was in Popular Woodworking issue # 146 Feb 2005. I had the the same recollection Of FWW, until I found the summary on the WMH Tool site.
Do you want a bench top planer or a floor model planer? Are you talking about 10 boards a day, 100 rough sawn boards a day, or more?
Tell us what your needs are. Planers range anywhere from $300 to $15,000 in price.
