All,
When spraying lacquer sanding sealer (Gemini brand) as a base coat prior to the application of dye, what precentage should I thin it?
Thanks,

It will help if you tell us a bit more about the project.
What wood are you finishing? What dye are you planning to use, and how do you intend to apply it? Can you describe the overall look you are aiming for? Which topcoat?
The wood is pine to be used to make 51 cabinet doors with Gemini products sprayed on to match in color existing doors to have a top coat of clear lacquer. The undisciplined life is not worth examining.

I am not familiar with the Gemini products, is it a pre cat lac ? Most lacquers are now self sealing , meaning you eliminate the use of sealer .
As far as dye goes , typically raw wood gets dyed before sealing , you can mix color in the lacquer and tint or shade after using the dye or a toner .
What does the can of sealer say about thinning or ask the store you bought it from . What type of spray rig are you using ,airless , cup gun , hvlp ?
For an airless 20% thinner works well with pre cat but for the vinyl lacquers no thinning and no sealers are used and it lays out beautiful .

Contact the manufacturer and ask them. It makes a difference whether you plan to use their standard NC lacquer or their two part products. The sanding sealer is different for each.
