Thoughts on Rikon Model 10-325 Bandsaw?
Hello,
I’m in the market for a bandsaw. Does anyone have any experience with the Rikon Model 10-325? This is the ‘deluxe’ model with 13″ resaw capacity and the dual speed feature. I would also welcome any links or direction to good reviews of the product.
I’m curious if it has the punch at 1.5 horses to really resaw something over 7 or 8 inches without bogging down (given the right blade). Otherwise I may just stick with a Jet Model JWBS-14DX or Delta 28-206. The price is nice for the footprint and the euro-style design but I’m just not sure.
Comments on any of the three mentioned are welcomed. Thanks!

in addition to your wonderings, i think the blade is something like 111 inches. does timberwolf or other good manufacturers make one that size yet?
exactly. that was another question i had as well. thanks for the reminder. I need to research that on the timberwolf and olson sites. The would obviously be a deal breaker.
Apparently Olson All Pro and Grizzly are stocking multiple widths and sets in the 111" length now.
great, thank you for the update!
Timberwolf blades come in any size you want as they are made to your order.
Thanks, Jimma. I was unaware of the made-to-order option for Timberwolf blades.Ultimately, my post has now become a bit less important though. I ended up purchasing a 16" Jet. It was a 'manager's special' due to an overstock for a Jet promotion. I got a darn good deal as part of the price was supposed to include a Jet fence. They didn't have any so I got a mobile base and a 1" blade for resawing instead. I don't care for the Jet fence and would likely have replaced it anyway. Also, I talked to two fellas that have 18" Rikons and said they liked their saws and had no problems. One guy did mention that getting parts if something did go awry would take a long time. He used to work for Woodcraft (thus, the Rikon at employee discount price) and told me that it would have to come from China on the slow boat as there wasn't much of a stockpile of parts here.I hope to be happy with a bigger footprint, more clearance, and the better warranty. Now, if it would just warm up here in Minnesota so I could get it home and set up, I would be really happy with my purchase. Thanks again for the question/feedback.-Jeff
I have a Rikon 10-345, and I think it is one awesome saw. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a saw in the $1000 price range, it's good value for the price. It has a 12" resaw capacity, 18 3/4" throat capacity, 142" band length (yes you can get Timberwolves), it takes blades from 1/4" to 1 1/4" wide. Rikon recently upgraded to a 2.5 hp motor which makes this a wood devouring saw. It has powered thru anything I've fed it. I was even able to shave some paper thin 'veneer' off a 8" side of a 4"x8"x24" chunk of basswood, not that I need it, I did it just to see if I could. Rikon provides good tech support for any questions you may have, and will send you any missing or broken parts immediately (my lock down spring on my fence was broken, I called them and they sent me the parts). My only beef is where the owner's manual is concerned, it could be more informative and precise than what it is, I wrote my observations to Rikon; they were appreciative in their reply. Hope this helps you.
"I have a Rikon 10-345, and I think it is one awesome saw..."
Ditto!
Have you used an 1 1/4" blade yet? If ya did, how did the saw do? So far, I'm impressed with the blade that came with the saw, and a carbon 1/4" that I put on for cutting out blanks for Christmas ornaments. I bought a 1" Timberwolf but have yet to use it.
No. I have a 1" TimberWolf but actually prefer the 3/4". I also use a 1/4" TimberWolf that is excellent even cutting curves and circles in 10" thick stock (for bowl blanks).
