Hi,
I need to create some threads for a turned box that I’m making and I know that there is a way to do this. Male and female threads for the box top and bottom. I’ve heard about thread following but I don’t have information about this. Can you help me with this?
Thanks!

Dear picapiedra,
Sorry for the delay in getting you an answer. I'll touch base with a turner and see if we can get you a response.
Thanks,

Dear Picapiedra,
Chasing threads is one of the turning skills I've never tried. However, Taunton does have a book by master turner Richard Raffan, which covers the subject. It's the Complete Illustrated Guide to Turning. Here's a link:

The alternative: See if there's a woodturner's club in your area, and see if any of the members can help you. Turners, like other woodworkers, are a generally generous lot. You can go to the Web site for the American Association of Woodturners to see if there's a club nearby. Here's a link:

Good luck. Hope this helps.
