The collet on my Milwauke router is loose so every few router bit changes I have to retighten it on the shaft. Problem is I can’t get it tighjt enough so it loosens again. I don’t want to jam a screwdriver in the motor fan so I can really tighten it because of possible damage. How to I get it really tight on the end of the motor shaft?

The collet grips the bit just fine. The collet, threaded on the end of the motor shaft, is what is coming loose. And I can't secure the motor rotor from rotating so I can give the collet a good turn with a wrench.
Tightning router collect?
Might try a little "Lock Tight" on the threads.

Leigh had this tied up 20 years ago. Might still use it. Lest you don't want to insult (drill holes in it) your collars, armored pliers will do a fair to good job: http://patwarner.com/images/prec_subbase3.jpg
