Timberwolf Blades…
I’m playing with the new BS (Delta 28-206 14″). When I use the 1/2″ Timberwolf blade it tracks in the middle of the tire and cuts beautifully. With the Delta 1/4″ blade it appears to track just a tiny bit forward of center on the tires. Today I tried a new 3/16″ Timberwolf….it tracks in the front of the tire….and I am unable to support the blade with cool blocks or bearing..too far forward…is this normal? I did some tight circles in this position and eventually the blade started to hit the guard.
I have not tried too hard to keep the 3/16″ in the center of the tire….thought I’d consult with you folks first. thanks

I believe that there is an ajustment for the top wheel. The adjustment tips the wheel and allows you to position the blade where you need to.
GeorgeR,
I ran down stairs and sure enough....I got one of those. I'll play with it in the morning. thanks
BG,
Are you using the tracking control on the side of the housing that encloses the tensioning spring? It's a small horizontal thumbscrew, just about even with the center of the upper wheel's axle. Turning the tracking control should allow you to easily move the blade to wherever you want it on the tires.
Turn the upper wheel by hand as you adjust the tracking so that the blade can shift on the tire as you turn the tracking adjustment screw. If you change the blade tension the blade will track to a different spot on the tires, so set your tension first and then fine tune the tracking. Don't adjust the tracking with the machine running, it is dangerous.

Never had different blades track on different areas of the tire. Customer support at Timberwolf is absolutely top notch. Might pose the question to them.
As an aside, there likely is also provision to slide both the upper and lower "carriages" (supporting the rear bearing and side cool blocks or similar) front and back. I have to move the carriages when changing from 1/4" to 3/4" blade to keep the cool blocks on my Minimax just behind the blade teeth.
Don,
That MinMax is quite a machine...saw one on Friday...wow!
Yes, I can adjust the cool blocks and bearing....but they were ineffective because the blade was too far forward on the wheels. Tomorrow I'll get it squared away. Thanks
JohnW,
I'll do an initial track adjustment by hand. I think I need to set the blade tension while the machine is running....and then stop the machine and readjust the track if needed by hand....how does that sound? thanks
Hey,
I've got a 206 too. The other guys are right, you need to adjust the screw that tilts the upper wheel. Your manual should show where it is. Clockwise, blade will track more toward the back of the saw; counterclockwise, it'll track more toward the front. Sounds like you need to turn yours clockwise.
Have fun.
Charlie

I've read (and perhaps others will support or correct me on this) that you tighten the tension around the marking on the saw, then run the saw with the guides backed off, and tighten again until the "flutter" stops (you'll see it.) Then loosen 1/4 to 1/2 turn, and that should do it. Highland Hardware has a procedure for resaw tensioning that works quite nicely; you can get to it by going to their website and clicking on the WoodSlicer link.
