Hi all. This is my first time posting here. I have a question I was hoping you could help me with. What is an acceptable tolerance for flatness on a table saw top? I recently purchased the Craftsman hybrid and its top is not flat by .008 across a diagonol crossing through the center of the table. It’s like there is a .008 hump in the center. This is my first new tablesaw, so I don’t know what to expect. I don’t know if I’m nit-picking or not. I measured it with a starrett straightedge and feeler gauges.
Thanks for your help.

i can assure you that it is fine. unless you are working on as a NASA sub contrator.
Yep. 0.008" is within typical industry standards for the main table, and it's better to have a hump than a hollow.
.008 hump in the center
Orbit sanded get THAT off in a hurry!
Thanks for responding guys. I think what I'm going to do is finish setting it up and see how it does, then go from there. Since my original post I found a different slope that measured .011, which bothered me more. I've gotten a lot of different and good advice about it. Other than this possible problem with the table, the rest of the saw seems very solid, so i'm going to see if it makes any difference in my cuts before doing anything else about it.
Thanks again.
