Hi first time posting here but longtime reader, I recently got a cabinet full of old tools given to me and there are several things in it that have me stumped. Does anyone know what this is? It looks like a punch tool of some kind but I’m not finding any reference online

I do believe that's an old capsnivenhouseler which allowed you to put the cap on your snivenhousel. Indeed rare to see a snivenhousel these days much less a capsnivenhouseler.
I think you're right. I would guess it came with a set of punches and the bed rotates to move the diameter of punch you are using under the guide tube. Look in the cabinet for the punches!
it might as well be a capsnivenhouseler, I have no idea what to do with it, The bed does rotate and there are different size holes on it. I think some of the other stuff in the box was for engraving so it might be for that. I dont want to throw it out untill i know its not a priceless antique.
It's a small turret press
so its for reloading? seems to small but i know they made wierd size guns in the old days. some of the stuff it was with it is pre power tool era maybe early 1900s, and one of the things in the chest was an antique shotgun shell reloading tool, flea market guy told me what it was, (i had no idea, havnt been shooting any rabbits)
OK Andrew, since you're not laying claim to possessing a certified capsnivenhouseler I have a guess as to what you may have. Given the gold filigree ornamentation on the piece I speculate it's an object meant to be seen, e.g. in a retail shop. I think you have a grommet set. One side of the grommet would be set in the appropriately sized turret hole and the other half captured in a punch rod inserted into the top and driven home with a hammer strike. In earlier times tarp & canvas shops would set grommets in the fabric or leather at the customers direction. That's just my guess, but I still think it may be a capsnivenhouseler in the wild.
Now I kind of want to use it if that’s what it is, thanks for the info I wonder if supplies are still available that would fit it
I think it's a watchmaker's staking tool. Here's a shiny one.
That's the one.
Ding!!
Yes , that looks the same . So it’s for punching tiny watch parts, makes sense given its size . Well thanks for solving the mystery.
