I just aquired a Stihl 029 chan saw sans manual. I went to Stihls site and they sent me the original manual free of charge. Every page of the manual has some sort of safety warning along with very detailed use and maintenance instructions.
I usually have to pay for manuals and was pleasantly suprised to find out Stihl sends them to you free. I definitly will buy more tools from them, not just because they are good but because they care enough to ensure that you know how to use them properly and don’t charge you for the information.
About the only thing a Jet Manual does is teach you how to scratch your head. I like the tools so I’ll keep buying them. I just wish they had better manuals.
So with this new chain saw, should I practice dovetails on hard or soft woods.. Sick humor again… LOL
Oh yeah 24″ 3/8 bar

My brother in law was VP of engineering for a chain saw manufacturer and spent much time testifying in accident and death cases. Many of which the manufacturer lost--including one where the guy actually did cut off the branch he was sitting on. He fell with the saw in his hand and cut off his leg when he fell on the saw. He had many cases where power lines were cut.
He then was transferred to their Bostich division as VP and again you would not believe what folks do with nail and staple guns.
