First time post:
Looking for ideas, plans, suggestions, etc… for a wooden tool tote. Size to be about 12 x 24 with DT construction, material will probably be cherry and/or maple. Some sort of internal compartment possibly? Skill level = Woodbutcher 3rd Class. Not much experience with designing and building from my own design.
From what I’ve read in this forum, there are a very many skilled and helpful craftsmen/women here, thanking you in advance for any help.

Depending upon what you're aiming for, this is one of those projects that barely needs a plan. Two rectangular sides and two "house shaped ends" (i.e., square with a triangle (roof) on top. Rout a nominal 1/2" groove a 1/2" from the bottom edge of the sides and end pieces to house the bottom. Make a handle with a spokeshave or use a large diameter dowel to run between the "peaks" of the end pieces. If you want a dividers, rout dados to slide them in before dovetailing and assembly.
Should be fun!
Thanks for the reply Samson, I'm looking for something other than just a plain jane box, something with a little flair, but not too fancy due to my skill level. I'd like to give it to a good friend who helped me with a difficult project this past weekend in some somewhat inclement weather.

You'll find some really nice tote plans in here:

one I am winging on is similar to the plain jane one, but made a little deeper with a space to hold some of those watchmaker tins that LV sells - they come in a little case.
making mine to size so that I can fit one of them in the bottom slot with a turn button or some such to hold in place. If I get ambitious, I may do some scroll work on the side to pretty it up, or I may not, or I may do that later on.1 - measure the board twice, 2 - cut it once, 3 - measure the space where it is supposed to go 4 - get a new board and go back to step 1
