Hello to everyone,
has anyone tried out Japanese waterstone wheels for the Tormek. I have seen two grits (800 et 4000) advertise on Highland woodworking website and I’m thinking about giving them a try. Does the sharpness compare with ordinary waterstones? Do they improve much over the standard Tormek wheel?
Thanks
Rehab.

It sounded great in theory when I purchased the Japanese Waterstone, but the actual application itself was less than impressive. My experience was that the wheel cut way too slow. Even if the intial bevel had been previously established on an iron it still took forever to get any progress. I eventually (after only 30 minutes of use)removed the stone and replaced it with the original. I have been much happier.

Thanks for the red flag. I appreciate it.
