What are the differences between a Tormek 2000 and a 2005?
Would appreciate any info you can provide.
Thanks,

IIRC, the 2000 does not have the horizontal base for the tool rest.
Can you describe in a little more detail what you mean by the "horizontal base for the tool?"
Thanks,
Alan
Alan,
These guys can answer all your questions. The best place to buy a Tormek. Ask amount the free DVD show special. Other extras include double warranty, free stone grader, and free shipping. They also have lots of different packages and the new 2006.

John,
Thanks. Was not aware of this particular website.

Its the extruded aluminum part which is screwed to the frame's top. It is part number XB-100 on the Tormek Product List at http://www.tormek.com/index_gb.htm . The number on the machine is not necessarily the version to which it has been upgraded.

Phenom,
Thank you for the clarification. Looks like a beneficial upgrade/improvement they have made.
Thanks,
Alan
