*Thank you for your post. I actually just built two of the very ones your post refers to. I found them pretty tedious to build. The sides, back, front, and top are plywood edge-banded with solid wood (I used maple). You you spend most of the time with your biscuit joiner, then when the edge-banding doesn't line up right you're sanding or scraping it flush. I need to make a couple more toy boxes as gifts, so I was looking for a more interesting plan. But thanks again anyway.
*Mark. You must have built your toy chest by now.Norm Abram has a toy chest in one of his books.I have built two of them.Children like the inlaid checker board feature.By raising the box off the floor about 41/2"with a cutout base, the chest is much easier to move around. PAT.
