Greetings,
I am looking to buy trace cloth to make a rubber to french polish with but it seems the smallest amount sold is a 5lb box. I am tempted to buy it but wanted to see if any of you had another source that sells it in smaller amounts.
Thank you,
Peter

Shellac.net, one of my go-to finishing resources has smaller quantities that are inexpensive.

Thanks Tim but I think they stopped carrying it. When I add it to my cart I get an error: " The selected item is no longer available: FRENCH POLISHING CLOTH / TRACE CLOTH - 1/2 Lb"
An alternative that I use is old men's white handkerchiefs. They are lint free, very high thread count, and, at least for me, very available. My wife prefers I repurpose them after the edges get a bit ragged. I use them for the final very thin coat of Waterlox, a wiping varnish. I use a small square to wrap a ball of cotton, just as for French polishing. I make sure there are no wrinkles in the area I use to avoid streaks. If you have any old handkerchiefs, try them.
Thank you I will try them out
