Traditional standing desk – plans sought
Has anyone seen any plans for a standing desk? This type of furniture looks much like a lectern or podium, but functions as a desk. The user stands instead of sits. Typically they may have one shelf well below the slanted writing surface. They also usually feature a writing surface that tilts up and has a small amount of storage space. I’ve come across a number of photos on the web and can infer some design dimensions from them, however I was wondering if any of you might have some. I’d prefer something that is more traditional in appearance as opposed to modern
Thanks, and happy woodworking,

see fww #104 page 44 for a captain's desk. we are just beginning to try two of them.
If you are willing to do some of the designing yourself, Thomas Moser has several examples to use as inspiration and rough sizing. One is found here:

I just completed one this past Christmas. I used a combination of the sketch in the
Rodale Illustrated Cabinet Making? and features from Thomas Mosers Measured Shop Drawings.
Check Amazon for the complete names of these books. I'll also check the titles when I get home. Your Public Library can get these for you to look at if you don't want to drop the coin.
Ok, Ive just checked. Rodale's Illustrated Cabinetmaking by Bill Hylton page 200. Also Measured Shop Drawings for American Furniture by Thomas Moser has measured drawings of three slanttop lecturn desks.
Thanks for the idea. I should have thought to look there.
