I recently ordered a sampling of transtint dyes. My goal was to conceal sapwood. They were excellent on walnut, but of course, still blotched my cherry. I know of the blotch free benefits of using gel stain on cherry. Can I use the transtint mixed with shellac to have a similar effect to the gel varnish? Can I use transtint in gel stain?
