In preparation of trying these products for the first time I have read the labels and noted that either Trans Tint (The liquid Product) or TransFast (the Dry powdered Product) or perhaps both warn that you *Do not store in a metal container*… it would be so much more helpful if they provided information about what I *should* do rather than only what I *shouldn’t* do.
What then? A glass jar? A plastic container? What about a glass jar with a metal lid? Plastic Lid? I don’t know. If there’s someone who knows how this stuff SHOULD be stored could you please fill me in.
Thanks!

I funnel mine into a used water bottle. The bottle is clear, unbreakable, and has a plastic top.
Thank you kindly.
I also use used water bottles or tonic bottles work well also and I seem to have a bunch of them in the summer. The little tiny bottles like one gets on an airplane are great for special dye mixes when you only need a little. This type of bottle will also hold shellac very well.
I mix TransTint in plastic deli tubs and use it right out of that. As long as you don't tip it over, the dye will last for weeks.

Last for weeks? The last time I mixed TransFAT dye it solidified in hours. Had to use it like shoe polish.DJK
As I said in my post, TransTint. I mix it with water. Not sure what would cause TransFast to harden, unless you really did mean trans fat, which I understand hardens quickly in your arteries. ;-)Pete
Thanks to all for the sharing your methods.
Homestead Finishes sells plastic squeeze bottles. The have a "squirt tip" with a small, red removable cap. I have found they are great for storing - and applying - the diluted dye.
