hey I have a customer that would like for me to use a tree trunk as a pedestal for a leaf shaped table that she would like me to design and build for her.Does anybody know of an outlet to purchase a tree trunk with some intresting shape to it? Thanks for any help in advance.

There are a few places on the West coast that specialize in redwood burls and other wood exotica, they might be a source for a stump section, but other than that I think you would have to find something like that locally. Your best source would be a tree maintenance outfit.
If your town has what is called around here a "stump dump", for tree branches and logs from property maintenance, you might turn up a well shaped log butt there.
If the log is bigger than a foot or so in diameter you should consider hollowing it out to reduce weight and to get it to dry out without cracking. And no, I haven't a clue about how to hollow out a log.
