I have just experimented with Tried and True varnish oil on cherry and love the rich glow and depth it gives. However, the finish never has seemed to dry in about a week and I think I might need alittle more protection and it looks like this might be a finish that requires periodic maintainance-something I don’t have time for. I wondered if I could put Minwax Wipe on Polyurethane over two coats of T&T varnish oil. Any thoughts out there?

the product you mention is boiled linseed oil and you can apply poly over it as long as you let it dry first.
