It has been too many years since I took trig to solve this design problem. I am designing a small table with slightly splayed legs. Does any one know a formula for figuring the angle across the diagonal of a leg cut with compound angles. In other words if I set my miter saw for a compound cut 5 degrees both ways what will be the resulting angle diagonally across the square blank. I want to know how much the leg will splay. The answer is not 5m, that much I know, but knowing what it isnt is not helping me figure out what it is.

Thank you, I do not use sketch up, still a paper and pencil guy. I did find a web site that gave me a trig formula that will work for me.
I am a math teacher and I could show you how to figure it out if I had a diagram of what you are describing.
