I am trying to make a go of a gunstock making company and I think it is going to do well SOMEDAY but in the meantime, I need to make some side money.
Are there any sort of trinkets, local markets, etc. that are good for small projects. I am not interested in building kitchens or large furniture pieces.
Do the small little art boxes sell or are they subsidized too much by parttime woodworkers (god bless them!)?
Also, I end up with beautiful cutoffs from stocks, some of them decent size and I hate to throw them away or burn them but I have no idea what to do with them.
Any and all comments are appreciated and welcome.

Hey. Best of luck. I've made some stocks myself. Used to kind of like Fajen back when they were still the old company in Warsaw. A semi inletted was a good way to go for a straightforward stock on a reworked 98.
For side markets, you have to find that one on your own locally. There seems to be craftsy fairs or outlets in a lot of decent sized towns; depending on what you make, even art galleries aren't out of the question. There was a place where I used to live that was sort of a high end artsy fartsy trinkets and baubles store. Sold some blanket chests through there.
I'd suspect for your AAA Fancy cutoffs, turning things on a lathe would be a start. Pens, pencils, christmas ornaments, fan pulls, whatever someone wants.
If your stockmaking thing makes a go and you get really really good at checkering, holler. Me and the checkering files never seemed to get along.
