table saw sled is what you have
or at least it sure looks like mine.
You use it to secure pieces to cut and run the sled with them through the blade. If properly made the tall rear fence is 90.0 deg to the blade.
Very safe precise operation is possible.

edit: the 2 strips of wood or metal shown are runners that fit in the table saw miter gauge slots on each side of the blade.
