I just found this forum after attending the Knot’s Fest in Seattle yesterday. I have posted on the WWA for nearly 4 years.(woodworking.org) Several months ago, after the Tsunami, we took up a collection which amounted to over $1800.00, and commissioned Dave Shaw from Malanda Aus. to create a hope chest, which will be auctioned off with all the proceeds from the sale going to the International Red Cross for the Tsunami Relief effort.
Dave, also known as D in C and the genious down under has been our guru on the WWA and the unchallenged best of the best!!! His website is www.australianwoodart.com
Anyway, the hope chest will be featured on the cover of the Lee Valley catalog being sent out on April 24th. I thought this would be of interest to woodworkers everywhere. Especially the people at Fine Woodworking. Thanks for listening, hope this cross forum post isn’t out of line??? Len

Hey, Len, welcome! I actually didn't realize you were unfamiliar with Knots. I'll post a link for the Tsunami Hope Chest:

I never did find a post with the totally complete chest though.

That hope chest is incredible.
While perusing threads on this forum I heard you mention WWA alot so I checked it out and saw the thread talking about the next Lee Valley Cover, although I couldn't get the link to that I checked out some of the work at Daves website that man does some truly awsome work.
He also has the completed hope chest on his web site.

Dang it! That is correct. I'm really looking forward to that one. Oh well, that leaves more time to build a nice frame!! Thanks for the correction! Len
