I have a chest I built of Cedar and Koa. My customer wants a tung oil finish on it and a Polyurethane Satin clearcoat. Both products are Minwax but are they compatible? I do not have any experience with Tung oil. The product directions do not say. Any help would be great! Thanks, Elliot St. Joseph, MO

Elliot,
Yes the two products will be compatible.
The "tung oil" is really just a very very thin varnish. Minwax uses the word as a sales ploy.
Just follow the directions and let it dry for a day or two and then you can apply the poly
Minwax is well known for it's misleading advertising.
