Seems to me I read or heard that you can add a little turpentine to shellac to make it easier to brush or pad. Anybody know the proportions?

Chuck, use denatured alchohol not turpentine to thin shellac. Shellac in a can is usually a 3 lb cut, I add equal amounts of alchohol to shellac for a 1 1/2 lb cut. This brushes out easily without streaks.
