Hi i’m new to the world of woodworking. i have a problem that i hope you can help me with. i am making a mission style table for my wife. when i glued the side rail and slatts together the side twisted on me. is there a way to fix this without having to take it apart and starting over.

Chef , Have you attached the side yet ? Maybe that will pull out the twist .
Sounds like it got the twist when you had a lot of pieces to glue up they all had a mind of their own .
You can re clamp the assembly and torque the clamps to the opposite twist , let it set that way , maybe so maybe no .

Perhaps when fully assembled, the side may be pulled into shape by the rest of the parts. I don't think there is much else you can do, besides start over.
Something to think about: Did it twist out of shape because it was glued up in an un-square shape, or did it twist because of a change in dryness in the wood itself.
Wood is going to move do to changes in water content caused by its initial drying and humidity changes in the air. To fight this, you must start with dry lumber and account for or counteract its movement in the design of the project.
