i picked up a couple of spoke shaves at a yard sale this last weekend. one says “151” and the other “152”. those are the only markings on them. at first glance i also thought the handles were identical, but upon closer inspection there is a slight difference in their shape from tool to tool.
i thought at first they might be old stanley spoke shaves, but i really have no idea. is one of higher quality than the other?
any help?
thx,
dbouch

One has a flat sole and the other a convex sole. Other makers used numbering systems similar to Stanley but there's likely logos on the irons. Never was all that pleased by the flat soled 151 I had but the 152 with the convex sole was just always a struggle.
