I relaxed on a Uharrie porch swing on a recent visit to North Carolina. I would like to either buy a used one or build one to its general look. They have the pricing down pretty consistently in the $800-$900 range. Also, I see none used on either Ebay or Craigslist. Seems a bit fishy to me, but it might be something people don’t re-sell. Any ideas on procuring either the plans or ideas on a good way to search for a used swing.
All comments would be appreciated.

Adirondack Chair on chains
I hadn't heard of them, so I did a Google search.
They bear a striking resemblance to an Adirondack chair hung on some chains.
I'd start by looking for plans for Adirondack chairs/benches you like, and modifying them to work as a swing.
I'd probably prototype one out of plywood with a hinge between the seat and back, so you can vary it untill the angles feel right to you before finalizing the design.
Or better yet a modifyed Morris chair design that incorporates an adjustment for the back.
