I know that this is a US site and the majority of you are therefore not in the UK but I also know that there are a few Uk guys out there. Can you help me find good sources of hardwoods in the UK- I don’t have a big enough turnover to deal with most of the importers who only want to do drops of 30+ cubed in one go. It seems mad (and sad) that I can’t find sources of this stuff. I am based in Herefordshire.
Thanks

Tim, I am curious as to what you pay for Hardwood on your side of the pond. I am shipping a 3 cubic meter box containing a motorcycle to Frankfort , Germany next week and the total cost via sea is $580 Canadian dollars. It takes about 2 1/2 weeks to arrive and to England takes 8 days.It would have been half the cost to England. They charge by volume rather than weight. Red Oak, select & better, in southwestern Ontario goes for anywhere between $2.75 to $ 5.00 a board foot. This is kiln dried rough lumber approx at least one inch thick( 2.54 cms ,I think).
