I’m designing an under-workbench cabinet and would like some input on the drawers.
Currently I’m planning a 6-drawer per-side layout with a door in the middle. I have the three top drawers at 2″, the next two drawers at 3″ and the lower drawer at 4″. Would this be a good setup for all sorts of hand tools, layout tools, etc?
Also, this box will slide under the bench and rest on the stretchers. Should I be concerned about “anchoring” the cabinet on the stretchers or will the weight of the cabinet and tools be enough to hold it put.
Here are some quick screen shots of what I’m working on.
Thanks,
Michael

looks good, but keep in mind that a drawer of standard construction, say 2", will yield only 1 1/2" or less of usable depth. I'd probably start with 3".
Good idea. I'll try it and see what it looks like.

Ok. How about the top two drawers at 3", the next two at 3.25" and the bottom one at 4"?
