I stained raw red oak with Watco Medium Walnut. The results were very disappointing. The stain took VERY differently between the pieces. Any suggestions about how to remedy the situation?

either apply another coat to get a more even response or wipe with acetone to diminsh the oil. If the color is what you want I would guess add more oil. aloha, mike
