I have a Rockwell 34-461 that I am working on. The pedestal has a hole in it – looks like a hole for a large electric box (4×3.5) – picture added. Has anyone seen this before? If so, what did you do to use it or cover it? I’ve checked around and no one locally has anything that will fit for a cover.
Thanks,

Look in the electrical dept. at Lowes or Home Depot to see if they have a metal electric box cover that will fit. Otherwise, you may have to make a cover form scrap sheet metal. Again, Lowes or Home Depot sell sheet metal of various thicknesses. Aluminum would work OK and be easier to cut. Even wood or plastic would cover the hole.
My understanding is there was an optional plate with a dust collector port there.
@DaveRichards - I was thinking it would be an OK dustport. I will just need to modify a few things
I did check big box stores and a local specialty electric store and they all said that they didn't have a box that size. There is a 'jumbo face plate' that might have worked.
Dave is correct, the hole is for dust collection.
If you aren't able to locate an appropriate plate, it would be possible to get one 3D printed if you have the model. I could help you with that if you need.
