A local store has a new, left tilting, 36-830A Unisaw for $1299 plus tax. Will come out to about $1400 after tax. Am really looking to move up from a 35 year old Craftsman contractor saw. Is this a good price? It seems comparable to what I can find on-line. I am strictly a hobbyist at this point and have a little apprehension about shelling out this much for a saw.

Check out this site - http://toolseeker.com/index.htm. I've found it does a pretty good job with finding the lowest price of the major net tool shops.
Thanks.
That is a great site.
Looks like the price is competetive.
Check Woodworker's Supply. I've been checking Unisaw prices recently and they have the best deal I can find.
When you're comparing prices, remember to include freight and delivery charges. On something as big and heavy as a Unisaw, they can be substantial. A local store with a lift-gate truck has a real advantage.
