Unisaw: rt. or lt. tilt; Unifence -Biese
After much agonizing I’ve decided to splurge and buy a Delta Unisaw. I’d appreciate opinions re: right or left tilt. Also, the pros and cons of the Unifence vs. the Biesemeyer.
Thanks for your time and thoughts.

Both of your decisions will boil down to preferences. Both have pros and cons, both have valid arguments either way. I can say that the LT and the Biesemeyer have more followers.
The steel Biese is extremely rugged, very easy to use, easy to add jigs to use, very repeatable, and has enough precision to satisfy most knitpickers. I don't have nearly as much experience with a Unifence.
Iv'e owned both LT and RT saws and definitely prefer the left tilt. The pros are that it's a bit safer, and the arbor nut orientation is normal.
Even though a RT can be moved to the left of the blade to make bevels safer, it's still an non-standard action for most of us, and is therefore not as safe. With a LT the tape scale reference changes with the blade thickness. The cursor can easily be adjusted for most changes, but not for a dado....I haven't found this to be a bother, but some claim it as a nuisance.

Both fences are very good fences. You can't go wrong with either. I have a PM66 with a Beisse clone. I have work more with the uni. Biesse is easier to attach jigs to than the uni.
Beise Pros: very simple design, fence on both sides without having to flip fence, easy to clamp jigs to, a bit more ridged (less deflection), steel construction.
Cons: Need to make jigs for certain operations (no big deal really).
Uni pros: Can slide fence fore and aft to use as a stop (move aft clear of blade), can flip fence to short side to clear on layup of laminate on 3/4" material (short face of fence can fit under over hanging P-Lam), easily adjust clearence betweeen fence and TS top.
Cons: Need to flip fence to do right side fence cuts, a bit more deflection with aluminum fence, difficult to clamp jigs to.
Read prior post on Woodweb regarding L vs. R.
I just bought a LT PM66 with Biese clone.
I prefer right tilt blades because when you rip a miter it is referencing from the outside of the joint. Any differences in the thickness of plywood will have the mismatch on the inside of the joint and nobody will see it. Porter Cable biscuit cutter fence is the same way.
Thanks to all responders. I decided on the left tilt and the B. fence.
