I have put this here simply because it is open access. Is there any way those of us who have not entered any profile info can be persuaded to enter location at least? If someone needs a book, help other than advice, attendance at a charity bash or whatever, it must help.
From my personal view those photos also help. Postings by Cruncher or Chainsawdan become less intimidating when I can put a face to the view expressed. Mufti is a mild muffin.

hello Mufti,
I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty to change the name of this discussion to: Update your profile. It would be great for everyone if there was info in most user profiles. I have tried for years so its good to see someone else campaign for the cause. -Mark
Help me.
At one time I could access profiles but for some reason I can't find them now.
Frosty
click on any of the "usernames" in the "to" and "from" fields, that will bring up the profile for that user. -Mark
Thanks! That was too easy.Jerry/Frosty
Nice hat mufti; you look like the queen when she gave her speech to congress.
When I am rich enough to afford a camera, a picture will be forthcoming.
The wife says she has her stick at the ready to beat off the women.
Pasa bon dia.
Dont worry, if you turn out to be that attractive I will have the sex change.
Thanks for the compliment, the topee is surprisingly practical, keeping sun and rain off and protecting the back of the neck. One never knows from which direction the next attack might come!
Mufti,
Good news; the wife has volunteered to do your surgery; she is borrowing my chisels.
Pasa bon tarde.
Thank you, Mufti, for posting this. It is so helpful when members at least let us know what state they live in, LOL! I have no problem with strong preference for privacy (therefore no pics, astrological signs and such), but a geographic location is very helpful.
To All: For those who aren't sure how to get to your profile and edit it. Look above, on the right-hand side, and click on My Forums, then click on My Profile then at the top, click on Change Profile. Your pop-up blocker must be off or set to accept this web site!
Cheers.

OK, I found My forums, but when I select My Profile, nothing happens. What do I do now?
Once on your Profile page there is a "Change profile" link. Select that then fill out the various fields from there.

"...but when I select My Profile, nothing happens...." You mean, nothing happens? This is where the instructions regarding pop-up blockers apply. You must either have your pop-up blocker turned off or set to accept this web site (forums.taunton.com).
Setting the PU program to accept this site will also enable you to attach pictures in your posts. No worries either. Taunton does not pop up ads.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Oh FG, I hate to admit how computer dumb I am, but if you can be so patient -- What is a pop-up blocker, and are there instructions? I'd love to be able to send pictures. I want to show off my new barn workshop and I have a bunch of questions regarding that. Thanks so much
Paul
Hi, Paul, patience I have, but ESP I don't, so I'll try to help but no guarantees. A pop-up blocker is designed to stop those annoying pop-up ads that you have probably experienced at various web sites. The problem is, they also block some legitimate functions, such as a pop-up box for your profile.
You probably do have one operating if you get no box appearing when you click on my profile as instructed. With any kind of luck, it's simply the Microsoft pop-up blocker that comes with Internet Explorer. Is that the web browser you are using? If so, click on Tools--->Pop-up Blocker--->Pop-up Blocker Settings and then add forums.taunton.com to the list of web sites that are allowed.
If it's not Microsoft, it may be part of a security package you have (such as Norton [yuck] or McAfee [yuck]) or it could be part of your Google toolbar if you have one, or (for instance) Earthlink software (for people who use Earthlink as their internet provider). Everybody and their brother are making PU blockers these days, LOL.
I prefer to leave my Microsoft PUB off because it's awkward to add a site to the OK list. I use a Google toolbar for quick searches, and use its PUB to keep the aggravating ones out of site.
LMK (let me know) if you don't find it, maybe I or someone else can help!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
You've guessed it, usually pickled, someone said it was a preservative and I never lie or argue.
Now I had a dream, I went to heaven to be met by St Peter standing in front of two gates, one large and one narrow. And I had to queue, he asked each person a question and his helpers shoved most souls through the narrow gate, even though there was obviously standing room only.
Came my time and he asked me my name etc and then opened the big gate. "Why don't I go in the other gate I cried" ( getting emotional). Oh, St Peter said, thats reserved for the "Anons", we respect their privacy and need for their own space.
If SYSOP offered a %age off the fee, do you think more would enter into the spirit of the thing? Or would the prospect of Hellfire and Damnation succeed.
"two bottles of wine with a neighbough(and my wife) so see tomorrer for some sense-if y'r lucky!"
I'm going to have to ask you to step out of the vehicle, sir.
Mufti,
Can't help but notice your resemblance to the fellow that chairs the weekly meetings at Possum Lodge.
Regard it as just as desirable to build a chicken house as to build a cathedral.
