I have recently coated my oak floor with Urethane oil base polyurethane. When I opened the can I noticed that there was a build up of junk on the bottom of the can. I tried to mix as best I could. After two days the first coat is still sticky in some places and looks dull in some areas and shiny in others. When will it dry (hemp is 70 degrees) or should I not wait and sand any way with mineral spirits and wet/dry sand paper? Is this normal for the first coat? From what I understand the stuff that settled at the bottom of the can was for dulling the finish (I purchased semigloss).

*How did you prep the floor before you put the poly on? Did you use a good dewaxer? Or was this a new floor?
*It was a new floor.
