I purchased a Vividia microscope a couple years ago and it works pretty well. I use it for getting splinters out, examining small parts, looking at bugs, etc

I have good success with the Carson zOrb looking at and taking pictures of insect pests. It would probably give you a pretty good view of your edges.

Shurely shome mishtake, as only an electron microscope will reveal what is going on with the really teeny splinters! Also, anyone who hasn't got one in his shed for examining sharpened edges isn't a Real Woodworker, as everyone knows.
