I live in No. California, where is a good place to look for quality used tablesaws?

You could try searching the local classifieds religously, WoodShop News, the yellow pages for dealers of woodworking equipment, http://www.woodcentral.com or one of the many, many forums out there. Small saw like unisaws can typically run 2/3 the price of new. Auctions are hit and miss. Often for the effort of buying used you could buy new for less considering the running around factor. Buy used because you like running around and tinkering more than woodworking. The best deals are on big heavy three phase machines. My 16" Oliver jointer cost me $1750 and $400 in grinding tables, rewiring but new the maxchine was $12,000. I would have cost several thousand to rehab it but I do that for a living.
I'd give "craigslist" a shot. This is an on-line classified add website that's good enough that E-Bay bought into the business. Look under "for sale- general". There is a lot of low-end stuff, but fairly often you see some really good machines listed.
Thanks,
I'll give it a try.
