Has everyone out there heard of Craig’s List?? It’s a well-organized and popular on-line classifieds site. I just checked it out yesterday and found several ads for power tools and a couple dust collectors. All private, no commercial sales.
Go to http://www.craigslist.org , look on the right side of the screen for the city nearest you and click. There’s no “tools” section, but you can search for the specific item you’re looking for in your area.
PS: funny…..a search for “dust collector” turned up an Wanted to Buy ad for Encyclopedias.

Pretty cool I saved the url. Thanks.
Yep. My dad was selling some of his old fishing equipment. But he found that he got better responses on Ebay. BTW, remember when Abercrombie & Fitch was sporting goods store?
My brother bought his BMW off of Craig's list. Nice site.
Hi Len....for something small like fishing items (which also could fetch a super-high price) eBay's a great way to go. Big stuff sells too, but man it can be a pain for the seller. I've sold 2 or 3 router tables and a small, old, cast iron lathe, all to folks on the other side of the USA. I generally don't charge anything above actual shipping when I sell, so the packing can get aggravating.
I like Craig's list because it's free and it's local. I just wish they had a Peninsula section for those of us who are a ferry ride away from Seattle, LOL.
PS: A&F -- Yikes!

Hey forestgirl, Do they have a 50 hp set of encyclopedias? That is about what I need to clean up all of the dust out in my shop.
I was just wondering which brand collects dust best. There ought to be a rating system. Britannic would be weak. I grew up with Compton's' which sucked pretty bad.
I'll bet Funk and Wagonal gets the highest rating for best dust collectors. Those were the ones that your mom could get at the grocer by redeeming her coupons when I was a kid. Er, That would have been back in the fifties, if you are too young to figure out what I'm talking about.
How long since you heard. "Look that up in your Funk and Waggonel".... Sp?
