users of 16-32 drum sander, any advice?
Hello, I recently purchased a 16-32 drum sander which I am very excited about. Just wondering, what are the first things you did to tune it up right out of the box? I know, I have the manual and it tells you what to do, but from a practical stand point are there things that you have done to tune it up that might be of any help. Again, I just purchased it and assembled it last night so I have not run any boards through it yet and want to know from people that have used it what could be done now in order to make it run fantastically. I’ll hang up and listen for my answer.

Throw the manuel away and call Wilton tools. There is a fellow there in technical service who will walk you throug a simplified approach to alligning the drum and the infeed/ outfeed tables.
Good Luck
I keep the feed belt very tight to keep the stock from "pushing down". Also, it's pretty critical to adjust the drum so that the outside is just a small, small hair higher than at the inside. This way, if you sand something wider than 16", you don't sand a groove in your work piece. It takes a while and some practice to get it just right, but once you do, it's a useful machine.

thanks for that, another question for ya, the infeed and outfeed tables, should these be slightly lower than the conveyor belt or pretty much flush? any tips on conveyor speeds relative to different types of wood?
I was just over on woodcentral and saw this cool link that had a great way to keep the drum square.
