Anyone have ideas for projects for leftover LVL scraps? I have 2 – 18″ wide LVL, about 6′ long. I also have a 2′ and 4′ scraps.
I haven’t tried to sell them, as I didn;t think that they were long enough for most construction applocations.
Could they be used for outdoor benches…what kind of coating would be needed?

taking the lams to slaughter
Curved or straight? If straight, I can think of several uses. Lam the two 6' lams to make a 36" wide benchtop? Or, cut them into 2" stips to make lam-lam cutting boards? Or, lam the lams lengthwise to make your own little lam-bowling alley. Or, as you mentioned, benches, which would work with either curved or straight. A good outdoor varnish should be sufficient, but that's really a question for the "Finishing" section.
